Note to Confirmands

Hello Friends!

We will gather together again as a Confirmation group on Sunday, March 30 (3:30-5:30 pm). Over the next 2-weeks you are invited to reflect upon the following questions:

Prayer: As I come to Your word, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight O God, my strength and my Redeemer.

Read Psalm 139:5
1. Looking back on your life, where have you seen God present?
2. What ways do you imagine using your gifts for God in the future?

Parent and Faith Friend Interview:
Take some time this week to sit with your parent & Faith Friend, and ask the following questions:
Why do you choose to be a United Methodist?

Bring your personal reflection and interviews with you on March 30 to share with others.

If you have any questions, email or call me.

Peace of Christ.

Confirmation Retreat

Confirmation Retreat at Lake Junaluska, NC

We will depart from the cul-de-sac beside Belmont UMC
March 7, at 4 pm. Bring a sack dinner for the ride up.
Lanecia will be at the church at 3:30 pm.

We will have all Confirmands call home when we arrive at our destination.

We will return on March 9, around 4 pm.
If we are going to be early or late, we will have your child call you
at least one hour outside of Nashville or by 4 pm.

What to Bring:

Bible, Small Notebook/ Journal
Pen or Pencil
Casual clothes (Dress appropriately for the weather and a Christian retreat setting where there are a diversity of people. We need to be intentional about our clothing choices, to not offend or put anyone down.)
Toiletries (Towels, soap, linens and pillows are provided)
Money (Vending machine snacks, lunch on the way back, souvenirs and ice-cream treat on Saturday afternoon. Suggestion is $30-50. All Confirmands will give Lanecia $10 on Friday, to hold for them over the weekend,
to ensure they lunch money for Sunday.)
Board or Card Games for the group to play

What Not to Bring:

Video Games, DVD player
ipod, mp3 player or portable cd player
Pocket Knife
Mobile Phones (All of the adults will have mobile phones that the young people can use in case of an emergency. When you drop your child off you will get a pocket sheet with contact information. Mobile phones can be a distraction for a number of reasons, and we hope to help our young people to retreat and enjoy the time away.) Food you are not willing to share with others. Anything that will devastate you if lost, stolen or broken.
